Sassy is available for adoption at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter.

EDINBURG – Sassy, a 6-year-old domestic long hair, is  available for adoption.

Katrina Keywood, an animal caretaker at the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, said that Sassy has been at the shelter since the middle of November.

“Sassy is our longest active resident at the shelter,” she said. “She’s waiting to go home.”

Keywood said that Sassy was brought to the shelter because her former owners could no longer afford to take care of her. Keywood also said that, while Sassy is fine around adults, she recommends that Sassy go to a home with older children and one without animals.

“[Sassy] wants to be the only child,” she said.

Keywood said that Sassy loves to be brushed and is a big napper.

“[Sassy] loves her cat bed,” Keywood said. “When we let the cats out each day, we put pillows in there with them. When we come back, Sassy is usually curled up on a pillow. She’s always looking for a quiet spot to curl up and nap.”

Keywood said that the shelter is unaware of any health problems with Sassy and that the feline has been spayed and is up to date on all of her shots.

The adoption fee for Sassy is $15.
