EDINBURG – Rosalee and Olive, 3-year-old pitbull sisters, are available for adoption.

Holly Helsley, an animal caretaker for the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, said the sisters were brought into the shelter as strays at the end of January.

“They had been running around for two weeks,” she said. “Animal control was finally able to catch them and bring them in.”

Helsley said that Rosalee and Olive are friendly around other people.

“They’re very playful and want to be loved,” Helsley said. “They’re 50-pound lapdogs.”

Helsley said they should be the only dog or dogs in the household.

“They don’t like being around other dogs,” she said. “They only like being around each other.”

Helsley said that both dogs would be fine around kids and warns that both dogs, especially Rosalee, do jump on people. She said that Rosalee and Olive are good when traveling in cars.

Helsley said that both dogs don’t have to be adopted together. She said that both dogs have been spayed and are up to date on their shots.

The adoption fee for the dogs separately is $25. The fee for both dogs is $50.
