Trashcan, a 3-year-old domestic short hair cat, is available for adoption at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester.

WINCHESTER – Trashcan, a 3-year-old domestic short-hair cat, is available for adoption.

Debbie Brennan, a member of the adoption team at the SPCA Animal Shelter in Winchester, said that Trashcan was brought into the shelter on Jan. 15.

“He came in as a stray,” Brennan said. “He was found in a trashcan and he also had a collar around his neck that also said Trashcan.”

Brennan said that Trashcan is a social cat and is outgoing with people and kids and OK around other cats and dogs.

“He’s a very laid back, friendly cat,” Brennan said.

Brennan said that Trashcan had most of his tail amputated when he was brought in. While she didn’t know why it was amputated, Brennan said that it could’ve been infected. Other than his tail, Trashcan doesn’t have any other health issues.

Brennan said that Trashcan is up to date on his shots and has been micro-chipped. Trashcan’s adoption fee is $95.
