MIDDLETOWN – Members of the Middletown Planning Commission are working on updating its Middletown Traditional Neighborhood Design ordinance.

On Monday, members discussed updating the zoning ordinance to create a clear process on submittal and what documents are required as part of the application.

The Middletown Traditional Neighborhood Design in the zoning ordinance was adopted in 2006.

“What we are trying to do is update the MTND to become a document that is easier for all parties and agencies to follow and that complements the comprehensive plan,” said Zoning Administrator Michele Snyder.

They also discussed the need to go through and update the Capital Improvement Plan by removing items that have been replaced and are no longer owned by the town or (in the case of a project) in which work has already been completed.
