For a more rustic barn wedding, Pleasant View Events in Mount Jackson offers a country barn in a cozy setting with stunning mountain views in rural Shenandoah County.

The 1875 wooden peg barn is large, accommodating and convenient in its placement three miles off Interstate 81.

One unique element that owner Tom Streett offers is full weekend access, so couples can set up Friday for a Saturday event and come back Sunday to retrieve items. The standard venue fee he charges is $2,950 for the weekend.

“A lot of brides really like that because they’re not stressed with a time limit,” he said.

Though the barn comes as is, Streett said parties are welcome to bring any vendors and equipment they like. A prep area with refrigerator provides space for caterers, and bridal rooms give the wedding party space to prepare for the ceremony.

Tables and chairs are included in the bookings and available for the ceremony and reception, he said.

“It’s got very nice lighting, nice floor,” he said. “I try to be very flexible and accommodating to their needs.”
