Front Royal police on Tuesday arrested a Front Royal woman on 10 charges after she allegedly cashed two stolen checks at an area bank.
Police arrested Kasey Thomas, 26, on three misdemeanor charges of petit larceny for the alleged theft of three checks, two charges of felony uttering charges for allegedly cashing the stolen checks, three charges of felony forging, and two misdemeanor charges of obtaining by false pretenses the money, according to Capt. Crystal Cline, of the Front Royal Police Department.
Cline said Thomas stole three checks from an acquaintance and forged the owner’s signatures on all three, and then cashed two of the checks.
The first cashed check was in April for $400 and the second check was cashed on May 13 for $480. Thomas is alleged to have tried to cash the third check on May 15 but it was refused by the bank, Cline said.
Thomas’ court appearance is scheduled for July 23.
