Front Royal police are asking for the community’s help following a nonfatal shooting in town Wednesday night.

Officers who arrived at the 100 block of West Jackson Street at about 8:40 p.m. found a 40-year-old Front Royal man with gunshot wounds to both legs. The release states that the victim disclosed that he was shot upon exiting his vehicle.

“The victim was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Winchester Medical Center, where he received treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital.”

Witnesses told police there could have been three male suspects, all wearing hoodies to conceal their identities.

Two of the suspects wore black hoodies and the third suspect wore a white hoodie and had on striped pants and white shoes, the release states. Officers searched the area and briefly detained a suspect in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue whose clothing matched the description given by witnesses.
