WOODSTOCK — Separate alleged child pornography possession and sexual assault offenses were among the indictments handed up by a Shenandoah County Circuit Court grand jury this month.

Robert Moses, 66, was indicted Jan. 8 on two counts of child pornography possession as a second offense.

Moses, who previously lived at 132 E. Main Street in Woodstock, now resides in Harrisonburg.

According to a criminal complaint, a Woodstock Police Department investigator executed a search warrant at Moses’ home on Sept. 23.

A witness stated they had seen nude images of a girl while at Moses’ home on Sept. 13, the complaint states.

Moses was interviewed and admitted to downloading over 1,000 images to a storage device that police recovered from his home, the complaint states.

The investigator saw images of boys and girls appearing to be between 6 and 12 years old performing sex acts on adult males, the complaint states. Some of the images were labeled with the age of the juvenile involved, the complaint states.

The investigator viewed over 12 images of different juveniles that were downloaded by Moses onto the device, the complaint states.

Moses admitted to being charged and convicted in California for sexual assault, the complaint states. A checklist for bail determinations states Moses was convicted of two counts of a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14 in California in 1991.

Moses has been released from the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail on $20,000 bond. He is due in Shenandoah County Circuit Court at 10 a.m. on March 16.

Matthew Edward Mastin, 24, of 414 Duncan Ave., Front Royal, was directly indicted on felony object sexual penetration by force and misdemeanor sexual battery for incidents that occurred on Dec. 11 in Shenandoah County. A direct indictment means little information on the circumstances leading up to the charge is publicly available until a later time.

Mastin is due in court at 10 a.m. Jan. 21. He has been released from custody on $5,000 bond.
