Central sophomore Trynda Mantz threw a complete game three-hitter to lead Central to a 6-1 Class 3 Northwestern District softball home win over William Monroe on Friday.

Mantz struck out four with two walks in the victory. Kenda Boyce had a homer, and went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs for Central. Ivy Mongold and Brooke Grady each had a hit and an RBI for the Falcons.

Central (4-7, 4-7 Class 3 Northwestern plays at George Mason on Tuesday.

Rappahannock County 12, Strasburg 7

The Rams committed seven errors in a Bull Run District home loss to the Panthers.

Strasburg trailed 11-2 in the fourth, but rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 11-7.

Natalie Hott went 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Rams. Rebekah Moxley went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Kiersten Wiseley went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Strasburg. Sidney Duckworth went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Madi Stinnette went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Rams.

Strasburg (4-7, 4-7 Bull Run) hosts Madison County on Monday.

Baseball

Page County 6, Stonewall Jackson 2

The Generals managed only four hits in a Bull Run District home loss to the Panthers.

Page County broke open a 2-2 tie, with two runs in the fifth and two runs in the seventh. Page County sophomore Lance Williams struck out 11 and walked two.

Jaden Click went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Brayden Hovatter went 1-for-3 with a run scored to lead the Generals.

Stonewall Jackson (7-4, 7-4 Bull Run) plays at Luray on Monday.

George Mason 9, Warren County 3

The Wildcats managed only four hits in a Class 3 Northwestern District home loss to the Mustangs.

Aiden Borghi went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead Warren County. Bryce Post scored two runs and Will Waller, Ryan Curl and John Pond IV each had a hit for the Wildcats.

Warren County (4-6, 4-5 Class 3 Northwestern) hosts Skyline on Tuesday.

William Monroe 11, Central 1, 5 innings

The Dragons scored a combined seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to pull away from the Falcons in Class 3 Northwestern District action in Woodstock. The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Jacob Walters led Central with a hit and an RBI. Calvin Bernard went 1-for-2 with a run scored and Caleb Daugherty went 1-for-2.

The Falcons (0-10, 0-10 Class 3 Northwestern) play at George Mason on Tuesday.

Girls soccer

Stonewall Jackson 10, Page County 0

The Generals capped off their regular season with a strong home Bull Run District win over the Panthers.

Kylene Franklin had two goals and two assists and Annika Dellinger had two goals and one assist to lead the Generals. Gracie Struder had one goal and one assist and Eli Dellinger, Madison Wright, Katie Jordan, Julia Biller and Brooke Jones each had a goal for Stonewall Jackson. Paola Arrocena Jacuinde and Kezia Despirito each had one assist for the Generals.

It was Stonewall Jackson's seventh shutout of the season. The Generals (8-1, 8-1 Bull Run) will play in the Region 2B semifinals on June 15.

Boys soccer

George Mason 6, Warren County 1

The Wildcats struggled to find the back of the net in a Class 3 Northwestern District home loss to the Mustangs.

Jalen Rodriguez had the only goal for the Wildcats. Warren County goalkeeper Cody Crawford had 14 saves.

Warren County (4-5, 4-3 Class 3 Northwestern) plays at Skyline on Tuesday.
