Sherando's softball season came to an end on Wednesday night in a Class 4 Northwestern District tournament semifinal road loss to Fauquier, 9-2.

The Falcons led 4-2 after four innings, and used a four-run fifth to pull away.

Emma Chunta went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Isabel Hall went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Sherando. Abbie Schellhammer went 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Warriors (7-7).

Clarke County 11, Strasburg 3

The Eagles took advantage of seven Strasburg errors in a Bull Run District contest in Berryville.

The Rams had 10 hits in the loss. Kiersten Wiseley went 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead Strasburg. Sidney Duckworth and Sydnee Ponn each had two hits and an RBI for the Rams.

Strasburg (4-6, 4-6 Bull Run) hosts Rappahannock County on Friday.

Brentsville 10, Central 5

The Falcons got off to a slow start and couldn't recover in a Class 3 Northwestern District home loss to the Tigers.

Brentsville held an 8-0 lead after two innings.

The Falcons were led by Ella Toothman, who went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Alicia Ball went 2-for-4 and Bailey Spiggle went 1-for-3 with two runs scored for Central.

The Falcons (3-7, 3-7 Class 3 Northwestern) hosts William Monroe on Friday.

Brentsville 11, Central 4

The Falcons remained winless after a Class 3 Northwestern District home loss to the Tigers.

Ryan Barr went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs for the Falcons. Parker Sheetz and Calvin Bernard each had a hit for Central.

The Falcons (0-9, 0-9 Class 3 Northwestern) host William Monroe on Friday.
