Sherando's Kendall Lincoln had two goals and an assist to lead the Warriors to a 3-0 Class 4 Northwestern District home victory over Millbrook on Tuesday night.
Kelsey Johnson had a goal and two assists for the Warriors. Hannah Webber had two saves and recorded her third shutout of the season.
Sherando (3-2, 3-2 Class 4 Northwestern) hosts Handley on Thursday.
Clarke County 4, Strasburg 1
Morgan Mrizek scored in the second half for Strasburg's only goal against the undefeated Eagles in Bull Run District action in Strasburg.
Clarke County led 4-0 at the half. Freshman Madison Toone had two goals and Sophia Deem and Audrey Price each added a goal for the Eagles.
Strasburg (1-3, 1-3 Bull Run) hosts East Rockingham on Tuesday.
Sherando 6, Millbrook 1
Wade Butler had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Warriors past the Pioneers in Class 4 Northwestern District action in Winchester.
Dai Laduca had two goals and Jacob Hill had two assists for the Warriors. Jack Hendren had a goal and an assist and Ethan Laing and Cooper Freer had an assist each for Sherando. Conner Saunders had five saves for Sherando.
The Warriors (2-3, 2-3 Class 4 Northwestern) play at Handley on Thursday.
Central 5, Warren County 4
The Falcons rallied by sweeping the doubles in a Class 3 Northwestern District home win over the Wildcats.
Central was also sparked by the return of senior Michelle Kim, who has missed all season due to an injury. Kim was a Class 2 individual state semifinalist in 2019.
Kim won her debut match of the season 8-1 over Warren County's Keily Martin at No. 1 singles. Junior Erika Hutton also picked up an 8-4 win at No. 2 singles for the Falcons over Warren County's Alyssa Furr. Warren County picked up singles wins by Jessica Carino (No. 3, 8-4), Kaitlyn Totman (No. 4, 8-1), Maggie Plosch (No. 5, 8-3) and Jacky Sanchez (No. 6, 8-2).
Central had doubles wins from Kim and Hutton (No. 1, 8-0), Lydia Scibelli and Grace May (No. 2, 9-8 (7)) and Laurel Holsinger and Emily Burner (No. 3, 8-4).
Central (5-2, 5-2 Class 3 Northwestern) hosts Strasburg on Thursday. Warren County (2-4, 1-4 Class 3 Northwestern) plays at Skyline on Friday.
Sherando 7, Millbrook 2
The Warriors remained perfect on the season with a home victory over the Pioneers in Class 4 Northwestern District action.
Sherando had singles wins by Lea Blevins (No. 3, 8-6,), Kloe Thomas (No. 4, 8-1), Morgan Sutphin (No. 5, 8-1) and Emmy Woolever (No. 6, 8-1).
The Warriors had doubles victories by Emily Loy and Adelaide Gannon (No. 1, 8-5), Blevins and Sutphin (No. 2, 8-3) and Thomas and Kendall Clark (No. 3, 8-1).
Sherando (8-0, 8-0 Class 4 Northwestern) hosts Handley on Thursday.
Skyline 6, Brentsville 3
The Hawks knocked off the Tigers in Class 3 Northwestern District action in Nokesville.
Skyline had singles wins by Jaelyn Parker (No. 1, 8-2), Morgan Botto (No. 3, 8-1), Becky Geiser (No. 5, 8-3) and Paige Sinclair (No. 6, 8-0).
The Hawks had doubles victories from Parker and Brittany Arp (No. 1, 8-4) and Geiser and Sinclair (No. 3, 8-4).
Skyline (4-3, 4-3 Class 3 Northwestern) hosts Warren County on Friday.
Warren County 7, Central 2
Warren County improved to 5-1 on the season with a strong victory over Central in Class 3 Northwestern District action in Front Royal.
The Wildcats had singles wins by Michael Kelly (No. 1, 8-2), Austin Herring (No. 2, 8-3), Matt Farley (No. 3, 8-1), Antonio Tonizzo (No. 4, 8-6) and Evan Martin (No. 5, 8-5). The Falcons had a singles win by Ethan Hoover (No. 6, 8-4).
Warren County also had doubles wins by Kelly and Farley (No. 1, 8-4) and Herring and Tonizzo (No. 2, 8-5). Central had a doubles victory from Ethan George and Hoover (No. 3, 8-6).
Warren County (5-1, 4-1 Class 3 Northwestern) hosts Skyline on Friday. Central (2-5, 1-5 Class 3 Northwestern) hosts Strasburg on Friday.
Track and field
Central finished third in the girls meet and fourth in the boys meet in a quad in Nokesville.
George Mason won the girls meet with 73 points, followed by Brentsville (68), Central (56) and William Monroe (27).
Freshmen Nevaeh Strother and Asia Hoover led the girls team. Strother won the 100 (13.37) and 200 (29.40) and Hoover won the 400 (1:05.32). Sophomore Laniah Hoover won the long jump (14-07.00). Central also won the 3,200 relay (Laniah Hoover, Asia Hoover, Ashley Dodd, Kelsi Campbell, 11:27.23).
Brentsville won the boys meet with 67 points, followed by George Mason (56), William Monroe (54) and Central (51).
James Bland picked up wins in the 110 hurdles (19.44), 300 hurdles (48.17) and the high jump (5-04). Zach Dysart won the shot put (39-08.00) for the Falcons. Central won the 400 relay (Wilmer Barahona, Bland, Jamonta Harris and D'Arrick Merit, 47.54).
