The following are some of the area recreational events that are being held:

Walk & Wag

The Laurel Center will host a Walk & Wag to End Domestic Violence from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chet Hobert Park in Berryville. Bring your four-legged friends for a 2-mile animal friendly fitness trail.

Registration fee is $25 for individual walkers, $10 for ages 6 to 12, free for children under 5 and $125 for a team of six.

Golf tournament

Tee It Up For Tunes, a golf tournament fundraiser sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, will be held Oct. 11 at Bryce Resort in Basye.

Registration is $65 per person, which includes range balls, greens fee, cart, prizes and lunch. The practice range opens at 11 a.m.

Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. and the shotgun start at 1 p.m. Hole sponsorships for $50 are available.

Three marathons are planned from 7:30-10 a.m. during the Warren Heritage Society's annual Festival of Leaves event on Oct. 12 in Front Royal.

Runners/walkers will have a choice of the Helltown Half Marathon, Shenandoah Leaf Peeper 10K and Festival of Leaves 5K. Information: 703-798-2024.

Zombie Walk

The annual Zombie Walk will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 19 starting at the Bing Crosby Stadium and ending at the Gazebo in Front Royal.

Registration is free but everyone participating is asked to bring money or product donation for the Warren County Humane Society. Information:

Poker run

Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation will host a Jeep-O-Wramma Poker Run from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 27 at CMA's Skyline-Woodstock, formerly Woodstock Garage. Drivers must be 16 or older.
