At Thursday’s Shenandoah County School Board meeting, the board approved two assistant principals in the school division.
Mike Lenox is the assistant principal at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School effective April 9 and Wendy Houser is the assistant principal at Signal Knob Middle School effective July 1.
Lenox has been in the school system for 10 years, including three years as athletic director at Stonewall Jackson High School. Lenox has been the acting assistant principal at Peter Muhlenberg for most of this school year.
“Mr. Lenox has a strong leadership background from his three years as an athletic director,” Shenandoah County Public Schools Superintendent Mark Johnston states in a press release. “He has been very successful in his role as acting assistant principal and has developed strong relationships with students and staff at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School.”
Houser comes to Shenandoah County Public Schools from Frederick County Public Schools, where she teaches at James Wood Middle School.
“Ms. Houser has a strong instructional background, and is passionate about servant leadership,” Johnston states. “She will make a great addition to the Signal Knob Middle School team.”
