The Republican Women of Shenandoah County and the Shenandoah Freedom Caucus announced this week that candidate forums for the Shenandoah County School Board and the Board of Supervisors will be held over the next month.
Each district will hold its own forum on three separate dates at different locations.
Each set of candidates will give a brief introduction and final remarks. Candidates will be provided three issues in advance and have the opportunity to address them in detail. Rebuttal time will be allowed.
Candidates will field questions from the audience for the next 30-45 minutes. Questions may be asked of one candidate, both candidates for a particular office, or all candidates. Each candidate will have 45 seconds to respond with 15 seconds for rebuttal if desired. Questions will be taken from registered voters in the district.
The dates and locations include:
• District 5: Sept. 29 7-8:30 p.m., Lebanon Church Community Center
• District 1: Sept. 30, 7-8:30 p.m. at the New Market Government Center
• District 4: Oct. 19, 7-8:30 p.m., location to be determined.
