An excavator loads a dump truck with debris as a line of garage bays are leveled on the property of Shenandoah County’s proposed Sheriff’s Office and 911 center located on North Main Street in Woodstock on Tuesday. Lantz Construction Company, the general contractor for the project, started the $8.052 million construction project Monday. The new building is expected to eliminate overcrowding in the current Sheriff’s Office space. The Sheriff’s Office has appropriated over $8.1 million in asset forfeiture funds to fund the project, which is scheduled for completion in May 2020.
