The Warren County Sheriff's Office has received two reports of a suspicious man in the Shenandoah Shores area approaching girls, according to the department.
The man is suspected of being white and between the age of 20 and 30 years old, according to Capt. Robert Mumaw.
The man was driving a blue/purplish sedan, possibly a Subaru, and approached two girls under the age of 18 on separate occasions in the county portion of Shenandoah Shores that also includes parts of Front Royal, Mumaw said.
The male left his vehicle and spoke to the girls in an inappropriate manner, Mumaw said. The report of one incident came in on Monday, and the second came in after that, he said.
"At this time, we are notifying the public to use caution, remind your children to not speak to strangers and report it immediately if they are approached," a public information bulletin on the incident states. "Having a responsible adult at the bus stop for the morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off will assist in deterring this individual from approaching anyone."
Having someone stay outside with children while they are playing in the area was also suggested in the bulletin.
