MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Heritage Society would like to help design the upstairs of the new Town Hall.

Tess Klimm, president of the Middletown Heritage Society, extended the offer to council members at Monday night’s Town Council meeting.

“In March at our monthly meeting, we voted to offer the heritage society’s assistance to work with the town and possibly form a committee to help design and fund a display for the newly finished space upstairs at Town Hall,” Klimm said.

One idea for the room that the heritage society discussed was to provide a storyboard around the room on large 8-by-4-foot stretched canvas prints with smaller artifacts hung beside the prints. They also thought about adding some small history display cases against the walls.

Council members said they were agreeable to the offer and proposed forming a committee.

Also Monday night, Public Works Committee members went into a closed executive session to discuss a matter involving an expansion of a business. After the session, members asked the council to set a special council meeting for 7 p.m. Monday.
