Give the gift of relaxation this holiday season with gift cards to local hair and nail salons or a local day spa.

Gift cards can be a great gift that people can use at their convenience and also a way to introduce someone to a salon they might not have tried before.

SmartStyle Hair Salon, at 461 Reservoir Road in Woodstock, sells a lot of gift cards during the holiday season, said hairstylist Lexi Tristan.

Some popular amounts are the $15.97 hair cut or the $22.97 hair cut with a wash and cut, she said.

Gift cards are available for “any service that we do,” she said.

Zen Organic Parlor, at 239 South Street in Front Royal, offers gift cards for its “full gamut” of treatments, said employee Lee Nguyen.

This includes waxing, eyelash extensions, facials, manicures and pedicures.

As their name implies, she said, they specialize in organic treatments.

Day spa treatments are a great holiday gift for both the giver and the recipient, said Ann Soldo, spa manager at Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, 239 Kernstown Commons Blvd., Winchester.

People love to give spa treatments as gifts to help their loved ones have a chill holiday, she said. But it’s also an undeniably great gift to receive, she said.

“I think that everyone deserves a little rest and relaxation,” she said.

Services include massages like the hot stone massage and couples massage. Various packages also combine a massage with a facial.

Gift cards generally cover a specific treatment, Soldo said, ranging from an hourly service to a day-long spa treatment. The spa also offers monthly lifestyle treatments.

“We have an amazing Black Friday deal,” she said, which is “basically a buy-one-get-one.”
