Virginia State Police are looking for two men suspected of stealing heavy equipment from a dealer in Stuarts Draft.

The men have not been identified by police but surveillance cameras at a gas station in New Market captured their pictures.

At around 8:30 p.m. Friday, the two men, using pickup trucks with trailers, stole several pieces of equipment including two skid steers and a front-end loader tractor, according to state police.

While driving north on Interstate 81, one of the vehicles broke down in Strasburg around 11 p.m. State police suspect the two men abandoned the Dodge pickup on the side of the road and continued north in a Ford pickup.

The Ford pickup’s Texas license plate number is TX296346.

Maryland State Police are investigating similar thefts in that state. It is unclear whether the two men are suspects in those thefts.
