Front Royal police arrested a Stephens City woman Friday evening on a DWI, drug and a weapons charge after a traffic stop.
Police charged 57-year-old Cindy White with driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of a controlled substance and for having a weapon while in possession of a schedule 1 or 2 drug.
Capt. Crystal Cline said the stop occurred about 10:30 p.m. Friday when White is alleged to have made an illegal left turn from Strasburg Road to U.S. 522 North. The vehicle stopped on Duck Street.
Cline said White failed three field sobriety tests and was arrested on a DWI charge.
White submitted to a breath test with results of 0.11, Cline said. The legal limit is 0.08.
Cline said a firearm was observed in the driver’s side door, and white powder found in White’s purse tested positive at the scene as cocaine. It will be sent on to a forensic lab for additional testing, Cline said.
She said the value of the powder seized is estimated to be $50, Cline said.
White remained at the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail Monday afternoon.
