FOREST -- Shenandoah University men’s basketball senior Chris Chaney has been named third team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference, the league announced on Wednesday.

Chaney, a Virginia Beach native, led the Hornets in scoring (14.6 points per game) and rebounding 8.8 per game) and was Shenandoah’s leading scorer in 12 of the 21 games he played in. He was the ODAC Player of the Week on Dec. 2, and Chaney became the 19th player in program history to score 1,000 career points on Dec. 28 against Southern Virginia.

Chaney is the first SU player since Malcolm Clark in 2017 -- and the fourth player in program history -- to earn All-ODAC honors.

Randolph-Macon College netted four of the ODAC’s five major awards, as junior guard Buzz Anthony Jr. was named the Kurt Axe Player of the Year and the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year, freshman forward Miles Mallory was named ODAC Rookie of the Year and head coach Josh Merkel was named the Bob Johnson Coach of the Year.

Washington and Lee junior forward Curtis Mitchell is the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year.
