The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:

Casino night

A casino night will be held to benefit Central High School After Prom at 7 tonight at the Woodstock Brewhouse. Included will be cash prizes, professional casino games, poker and blackjack tournaments, simulated horse racing, food, $1,000 of funny money and one Brewhouse brew. Tickets, which are $50 each, can be purchased at the Brewhouse.

Vagina Monologues

Shenandoah University will present female voices performing Eve Ensler's feminist play  “The Vagina Monologues” at 8 tonight and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Goodson Chapel, 1400 L.P. Hill Drive, Winchester. Tickets are $10, $1 for students and $5 for faculty and staff. Proceeds benefit The Laurel Center. Information: Sarah Celec at thenjwc@su.edu.

Concerts

Shenandoah Conservatory will host the following concerts this weekend in Armstrong Concert Hall, 702 University Drive, Winchester:

• Today: 7:30 p.m., Jazz Ensemble's My Funny Valentine. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for non-SU students.

• Saturday: 7:30 p.m., Symphony Orchestra student soloists competition winners concert. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for non-SU students.

• Sunday: 2:30 p.m., performance by pianist Sae Yoon Chon. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and $12 for non-SU students.

MSV

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will open a new exhibit, “Things Come Apart” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday featuring the technology and design behind common everyday possessions at 901 Amherst St., Winchester. Admission is free. Information: 540-662-1473 or www.themsv.org.

Movie

The Youth Development Center will celebrate Black History Month with the showing of the movie “Harriet” at 5 p.m. Saturday at 3 Battaile Drive, Winchester. The movie will be followed by a talk led by LaTasha Do'zia. Admission is free.

Fundraiser

The United Way of Front Royal-Warren County will host a Mardi Gras fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal. 'Into the Woods”

Central High School in Woodstock will present "Into the Woods," a two-act play filled with fairytale stories and characters at 7 tonight and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Information: 540-459-2161.

Free movie

A free showing of the film “Despicable Me” will be shown from 7-9 p.m. today at Chet Hobert Park in Berryville. There will be themed snacks, wine and chocolate fondue. Tickets are $4 and free for children 2 and under. Information: 540-955-5147.

Magic Lantern Theater
