A Daddy/Daughter Snowflake Ball will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester.
There will be dinner, dessert, gift bags, door prizes and professional photos.

Harry Potter Yule Ball
Handley Library in Winchester will host a Harry Potter Yule Ball with interactive stations at 7 p.m. today for ages 12 and up.

Winchester Little Theatre
Winchester Little Theatre will present “The Music Lesson” at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 315 W. Boscawen St., Winchester.

Selah Theatre Project will host a musical theatre master class at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Youth Development Center, 3 Battaile Drive, Winchester.
The class, open to ages 10 and up, will be led by Youth Award-nominated choreographer Cait Kelley, who will explore the Tony Award-winning musical “Hamilton.” Registration is $25 per person.

The U.S. Army Blues will perform as part of the Essentially Ellington Regional High School Band Festival in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre, 620 Millwood Ave., Winchester.
More than 250 students from 10 high school jazz bands from Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and West Virginia will compete for best band, best section and best soloists awards. The winning band will perform alongside The U.S. Army Blues.

Barns of Rose Hill will host the following programs this weekend at 95 Chalmers Court, Berryville:
• The Music Industry in the 21st Century: 8-9:30 p.m., Saturday. Sean Murphy, founding director of the Virginia Center for Literary Arts, will moderate the panel featuring Cerphe Colwell, Jason Herskowitz, Todd Wright and Tom Carrico. Free, although $5 donation accepted.
• Filmworker: 4 p.m., Sunday. The Magic Lantern Theater will screen “Filmworker” — a movie about the decades-long association between legendary film director Stanley Kubrick and his assistant Leon Vitali, which was instrumental in the making of several of Kubrick’s movies including “The Shining,” “Full Metal Jacket” Tickets: $8 or $5 for MSV/Barns members.
