The following events are planned this weekend:

‘Sound of Music’

St. John’s Drama Club will present “Getting to Know…The Sound of Music” at 7:30 p.m. today, 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 5:30 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Bible Church, 80 N. Lake Ave., Front Royal.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children, students and seniors. Family special tickets are $35 for parents and minor children only for the Saturday and Sunday matinee performances. Information: www.stjohndrama.org.

“Grease”

Shenandoah Conservatory will host performances of the movie “Grease” through Aug. 1 in Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre. Tickets, which range from $20 to $38, can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 540-665-4569 or online at www.conservatoryperforms.org.

Cross Roads Festival

Rewind will be performing at the Cross Roads Music Festival from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today at Rebel Park in New Market. Admission is free. Food and drinks available for purchase. Bring a blanket/chair. Information: 540-740-3850.

Front Porch Fridays

The Waysiders will perform at the Front Porch Fridays music series at 7 p.m. today at Strasburg Square.

Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. A local nonprofit organization will be selling brews and snacks.

Winchester Little Theatre

Winchester Little Theatre for Kids will present “The Big Snore” at 2:30 and 7 p.m. today and Saturday at 315 W. Boscawen St.

Southern rock concert

Southern Rock artists will be performing for a benefit homeless service veteran charity from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock.

Tickets from last year’s concert will be honored. Tickets are $35 for general admission, $45 with on-site tent camping today and Saturday, $10 for children 12 and under and free for ages under 3. Tickets: https://tinyurl.com/bpuu9y7b.

Car show

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will host an antique and modified car show coordinated by the Shenandoah Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 901 Amherst St., Winchester.

On this special day, admission is by donation from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. Information: 540-662-1473 or www.themsv.org.

Cornhole tournament

A cornhole tournament to benefit Froggy’s Closet, Families Reaching Out Group, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Richards Fruit Market, 6410 Middle Road, Middletown.

Registration, which begins at 11 a.m., is $50 per team. Competition begins at noon. Prizes awarded. Live music by Rob Talton will be held from 11:30 am. to 2 p.m. and by Bryan Stutzman from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Activities for kids. Food sold.

There will be a booth to learn more about the nonprofit organization, which helps children at risk and children in need. Tickets for the Sept. 11 benefit Under the Sea Abnormal Formal will be sold.

Benefit concert

The Youth Development Center is raising funds for after-school programming by hosting the Davis Bradley Duo at 5 p.m. Saturday at 3 Battaile Drive, Winchester.
