The following are some of the area events that will be held this weekend:
The Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardeners organization will hold its annual Gardenfest event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown.
Featured are plants for sale, craft vendors and kid's events, face painting, food, a petting zoo with ponies and a lama, and K-9 demonstrations by the Frederick County Sheriff's and Fire Marshal's offices.
New this year will be a birdhouse decorating contest and free hands-on workshops. The Gartenhaus area will let people experience flower pounding, make a Tussie Mussie, Kokadama, pressed flower sun catcher or create a Black Forest garden art.

The Town of Mount Jackson will host a showing of the film “The Greatest Showman” at 8:45 p.m. today at the town park.
Handley Library in Winchester will host a Later in the Library after-hours event from 7-9 p.m. today to kick off its summer reading program for adults.
There will be live jazz music, magic by mentalist J. Edward Ford, tours of the library and beer tastings based on popular book-to-screen titles including "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Silence of the Lambs", "Stand By Me" and "Fight Club" (must be 21 with valid identification).

The Town of Strasburg and Shenandoah Film Collaborative will host a showing of the family movie “The Sword and the Stone” from 8:30-11 p.m. Saturday at Strasburg Square.
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley will hold a cocktail reception from 5-7 p.m. Saturday to open an exhibit of Tiffany glass at 901 Amherst St., Winchester. Tickets are $20 or free for MSV members. Registration required by calling 540-662-1473 or visit www.themsv.org.
The Open Market, sponsored by the New Market Chamber of Commerce Merchants Committee, will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Sun Trust Bank parking lot. The market features vendors with antiques, specialty foods, arts and crafts, fresh produce and more. There is also an activity for children each month.

The Helltown Cruisers will hold a cruise-in from 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the Gazebo in Front Royal.
Wings & Wheels
Wings & Wheels will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Regional Airport. Rain date is Sunday.
Featured will be a judged car show, airplane displays, kid's activities and food vendors. Admission is free, however, donations will be accepted to benefit Arc of the Shenandoah Valley, an organization for people with developmental disabilities. A family barbecue and barn dance to benefit Family Promise, a nonprofit organization that brings shelter, meals and support services to families without homes through a network of local congregations, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Classicus Farm, 1630 Chapman Landing Road, Edinburg.
