MIDDLETOWN — The Town Council approved three new members to the Planning Commission at Monday’s meeting.

Council members unanimously approved Alexandra Hannigan, Marc Furman and Kimberly Begnaud to the commission.

“I am excited to join and bring what I can to the table,” Hannigan said after the vote.

Hannigan, who is a Realtor and member of the town’s 4th of July Committee, moved from Front Royal to Middletown about 18 months ago.

Furman, who has a construction background, is a salesman for Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic, said Mayor Charles Harbaugh.

Harbaugh said Furman’s company has donated to the Patriots Pride Day event in Middletown.

Begnaud is the owner of Begnaud Sales and a long-time Middletown resident, Harbaugh said.

The council also approved the town’s Comprehensive Plan 2038.

Planning Commission members have been working on the document for about a year.

The plan is a guide to help coordinate development in accordance with present and probable future needs and resources.
