Strasburg is looking for partners and participants for its upcoming Christmas Parade.

Normally hosted by the Strasburg Chamber of Commerce, the parade planned for 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7 is now the town’s to coordinate, Town Manager Wyatt Pearson said on Monday. A tree lighting will follow the parade at 5:30 p.m.

Pearson said the decision for the town to coordinate the parade was made during a weekend phone call he had with Mayor Richard Orndorff Jr., president of the chamber.

“The chamber is not going to play any role in it this year,” Pearson said.

He said he contacted Orndorff after receiving multiple phone calls from residents wondering about parade details.

“I know that they had been trying to work with certain partners,” Pearson said of the chamber. “I don’t know if that didn’t get fleshed out.”

As of Monday, the town has posted a parade sign-up form on its website, The form asks anyone interested in participating — vehicles, floats, walkers, bands, equestrians or others — to print off the form and return it to the Town Office or the Visitor and Information Center by Nov. 29.

“We would love for people to reach out to us,” Pearson said. “We need participants, we need floats, we need partners, and we need them soon.”

The Town Office, at 174 E. King St., is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the Visitor and Information Center, at 33229 Old Valley Pike, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, contact Michelle Bixler or Olivia Hilton at 540-465-9197 or
