The Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man on Saturday and charged him with arson after an investigation into a July residential fire that was ruled an act of arson.
The defendant, Carl Wayne Robinson, 46, was arrested without incident at a local residence, said Warren County Fire Marshal Gerry Maiatico.
He was being held on Saturday without bond at the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren Regional Jail.
There was no information on a court appearance Saturday evening.
The fire occurred on July 14 at a home at 600 Catlett’s Ford Road in Warren County where Robinson had been a long term resident. The property was owned by family, Maiatico said.
A prepared statement from the Sheriff’s Office said firefighters arrived at the scene to find a small single-family home with fire and smoke showing. The fire was quickly put out. Robinson, who was the only occupant, was found to have escaped the fire but was treated and released for smoke inhalation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
