Shenandoah County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 28-year-old Woodstock man Monday evening on drug- and child endangerment-related charges.
Deputies charged Daniel Blankenship with a felony charge of possession of a scheduled one or two narcotic, a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and two counts of a felony charge of endangering a child in one’s custody, said Lt. Landon Ritenour.
The Sheriff’s Office was asked to do a welfare check at a home on the 200-block of Lakewood Drive at about 7 p.m. Monday. A deputy on arrival went to the door to find it open. Blankenship was in plain view, allegedly with illegal substances that were suspected to be meth and marijuana in his hand, Ritenour said.
Inside the home was a 4-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, he said.
Blankenship’s next court appearance is Friday in Shenandoah County General District Court, according to public court records.
