Over the past 33 years, the U.S. Department of Education has selected more than 7,500 schools – both public and private – as exemplary National Blue Ribbon Schools. Next month, 335 schools across the nation will be honored during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Twelve of those schools are from Virginia. One of those schools is Central High School in Woodstock.
The Blue Ribbon designation is a great honor, and celebrations are in order. We commend Central High School students and their families, teachers, administrators and school support staff. Their hard work is what made this Shenandoah County school exemplary in the eyes of the nation.
