Our submissions policy has changed. Please review the following before submitting letters or commentaries.
Letters must be 200 or fewer words and must be addressed to the editor.
We do not accept submissions that contain too much personal information, attacks, allegations, insinuations, hate language, potentially libelous statements or statements that are not factual, direct endorsements (of people, businesses or products), solicitations for donations, web addresses, phone numbers, addresses, or material pulled from another source without attribution.
Commentaries are essays that are between 400 and 500 words. Include a color headshot and one sentence describing who you are and where you live.
All submissions will be edited and must be written to the editor and exclusively for the Northern Virginia Daily by readers within our print circulation area. We do not accept form letters.
We accept two submissions per writer per month. We will contact you only if we accept your submission. All submissions must include your address and a phone number for verification.
